Michael Harding Handmade Artists Oil Colours
Michael Harding Handmade Artists Oil Colours are a well known British oil paint manufacturer that provide the seasoned oil painter with the most intense and vibrant colours around the globe. The care and precision that Harding provides to these handmade paints allows the user to delve into a rich history of pigment mixing that Michael Harding adopted from the Old Masters and continues to use with consistent quality each time. Inspired by Rembrandt’s painting in the National Gallery, Harding began making his own colours in 1982 with the aim to recreate the intensity he saw in Rembrandt’s colour work and to apply it to his own. With much experimentation to follow, Michael Harding developed and sustained the notion of sourcing the purest and sought after pigments to determine the accuracy he needed.
After finally developing the range we see today, Michael Harding began to supply to the Royal College of Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum and thus became the most prominent of oil paint manufacturers we have today. Michael Harding Handmade Artists Oil Colours each have a strip of the paint colour on the tubes to show the artist from the very start the quality that they are after.
Here at The London Art Shop, we stock an extensive range of these colours and in 60ml tubes, with the larger 225ml tubes of Titanium White 1 and Ivory Black.
